Nestled in the midst of the beautifully restored 19th Century village of Chesapeake City, the Old Wharf Cottage offers the perfect private getaway.
The Old Wharf Cottage is located at the foot of Bohemia Avenue along the banks of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Next door to the Bayard House Restaurant, and within easy walking distance to antique shops, gift shops, artists galleries, the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal Museum and other restaurants, you'll find much to see and do in town. You are just minutes away from the many attractions and activities in Cecil County, including boating, fishing, biking or visiting the wineries.
The first floor of the Old Wharf Cottage features a sitting room with sofa bed, a full kitchen, and full bath. The second floor bedroom is complete with a queen-size bed overlooking the canal, and cable TV. The cottage offers the ideal place to stay whether you are in the area for a corporate visit, a romantic getaway, or family visit.
Dine at the Bayard House Restaurant or enjoy a drink at the "Hole in the Wall" bar -a hospitality tradition dating back to the early days of the canal.
The town has many seasonal events that draw guests. Summer brings the very popular classic car show and free concerts in the park. In the fall there is the annual Ghost Walk and the ever changing colors along the canal. Visit during the winter season and you will enjoy the many activities of Winterfest. Santa arrives by boat, the town and homes are beautifully decorated, and the highlight of the season is the Candlelight House Tour, an event that has people returning year after year.
